
Fox25 has announced the hiring of New Mexico anchor Melissa Mahan. Mahan will co-anchor alongside Heather Hegedus on the weekend edition of the Fox25 News.
Fox25 News Director and Vice President Paul McGonagle remarked, “Bringing experience as both an Anchor and a Reporter, Melissa is a tremendous addition to FOX25 News,” adding, “It’s a pleasure to welcome her back to the area to cover news important to New England viewers.”
Mahan, who left NewsCenter5 sister station KOAT late last month, previously worked at WLNE in Providence. No word on her start date.

Fox25 has finally named a replacement for departed morning met Cindy Fitzgibbon. Shiri Spear, formerly of Miami’s WTVJ (NBC/6), has been hired at the Dedham-based O&O.
Spear was lauded by 25 news director Paul McGonagle, remarking in a statement, “Shiri brings an abundance of knowledge and experience in forecasting New England weather,” adding, “She will be a great addition to the FOX25 weather team and we’re happy to welcome her back to her hometown.”
The New England native will join the Fox25 Morning News on November 19th. She replaces Cindy Fitzgibbon, who left the station in September to “take a breather.”

Fox25 has named Sarah Wroblewski to the position of weekend meteorologist. According to TVSpy, the former weekender at WBZ was promoted this morning, officially replacing A.J. Burnett.
In a statement, News Director Paul McGonagle remarked that Wroblewski is, “a strong addition to our weather team.”
Sarah Wroblewski will begin presenting the weather on Fox25 News on the 28th at 10p.m.
Prior to joining Fox25 last year as a fill-in met and environmental reporter, Wroblewski worked at WBZ from 2005 until 2010, first as a weather producer, graduating to weekend morning met for the final part of her tenure. She joined the CBS O&O from WSI, where she produced weather graphics and reported on several weather networks.
