Fox25 Pulls a Fox25, Expands AM News to Six Hours

Fox25 has decided to expand their morning show by another half-hour. In a move echoing rousing-success-story KRON in San Francisco, the soon-to-be six hour morning newscast will operate using the same staff.  Fox O&Os in other markets use two anchor teams, often with two broadcast identities (Good Day City Name) to fill the time.

Gregg Kelley, GM of the Fox O&O, said in a statement, “This additional expansion reflects our ongoing commitment to covering news for the viewers wherever and whenever it happens.”

Anchored by Gene Lavanchy and Shannon Mulaire, along with Cindy Fitzgibbon, Doug “V.B.” Goudie, and Sorboni Banerjee, the expanded newscast will debut on July 9th.

In addition, the station will also launch a weekend edition of their 6 p.m. newscast on July 7th.
