7 Shuffles Sarah, Replaces Reporter

Newcomer Sarah French is already moving up the ladder at Channel 7.  The newly-minted weekender reported on Twitter that the Today in New England team is now growing by two.

French, formerly employed by Tribune’s Fox Connecticut, was named third anchor of the three hour long morning show.  She replaces Amanda Grace, who continued her upward trend on Bulfinch Place by being named secondary evening anchor.  Update: French will be sharing duties with Sorboni Banerjee.

In addition to the addition of Sarah French to the TINE team, reporter Tim Caputo has been named  lead reporter in the mornings, displacing the underrated Steve Cooper.

  • I think Sarah(even though I’ve only seen here a few times) is very appealing and comes off with a smoothness and sophistication not in abundance there. But there is no way that with all of their changes that 7 is going to be competitive with 5 in the mornings. Different league altogether.

    • Completely agree…Channel 5′s “news to go” segment at the last quarter of each hour is some of the best 15 minutes on TV (every story and everything you need to know)…it’s a polished newscast every morning and there’s great chemistry going on

  • Admin,
Sarah has not been promoted to third anchor she shares her duties for now with Sorboni. Tim has not been promoted to lead morning reporter.

  • Admin,

Any way you can get a hold of the monthly ratings books and begin posting them again here? Years ago Max made an effort to get them and post them – and back when Mike Page’s Boston TV site was up he did the same. It’d be a great addition so we actually KNOW specifics!

Any consideration would be greatly appreciated.

  • I’ve only seen Sorboni report during the night shows. She has not been anchoring weekend am for a while. Can someone please explain?

  • Quite honestly… I have absolutely zero recollection of ever doing that! That being said, it’s a very good idea.

  • perhaps it was a member of the group that used to post them then. Still, it would be a huge asset to this site now that the hingham weather site is gone

  • Any news on replacments for Kim Carrigan or Aj Burnett?

  • Please put Sara French & Amanda grace to gether at 6&11, ratings will soar !!! what are you waiting for? Janet wu,ried lamberty,Kim kahzie…. Hello?
