Fox25 has informed Kim Carrigan that this morning’s broadcast would be her last. According to TVSpy, Carrigan was told by station brass that the station was opting not to renew her contract.
The popular morning anchor, who arrived in Dedham in 2004 from WBZ, was told after the conclusion of the morning show on the 3rd that she would no longer be with the station. As a result, there is no immediate replacement for her.
Until Carrigan’s replacement is named, the station will rotate a series of their newer, lesser paid, and lesser known reporters until a suitable replacement is found.
Following the conclusion of her last contract, Carrigan was reportedly seen carrying boxes out of Fox25′s Dedham studios, leading to speculation that she was being forced out. However, she agreed to a pay cut in exchange for a job.

It was a violation of the commenting rules that are posted right above the comment box. If I remember correctly, this particular comment resorted to name-calling and quite honestly could have exposed us to libel. Comments are pulled when they single out a specific person in a derogatory way. I know of several personalities who regulary read the blog; how would it look to members of the media if the open forums were nothing more than immaturity and name calling?
this is a very sad show you are keeping people like Bob Ward, and VB and yet you send away Q, Doug, and Kim, and you replace kim with who…oh yeah what was her no name..you will lose viewers because you are gettin rid of the best of the best shame on you FOX25…they must have been democrats its the only reason i can think you would let her go….shame…..shame….shame guarantee your ratings will go down..

I would not feel comfortable working at Fox 25 after the recent rash of “changes.”
I understand that the broadcast industry is competitive and no job is ever really secure, but instead of hiring less experienced and lower salaried on air personnel to replace the veterans, offer these veterans a revised contract with less money. I’m sure most would accept the offer rather than being unemployed in the current job market. Besides, nothing is more embarrassing to watch than an out of area “newbie” mispronouncing the name of a town.
Since Kim accepted a lower salary, something else must have been behind her firing.
I wonder if A.J Burnett was given this option. He was a personable on air talent who will be missed.
Fox 25 seems to be a sinking ship, rapidly taking on water.
Fox is an embarassment they let the sickening Vb and gene lavanchy stay with their crude attempts at humor and low class but they fire a more classy and profesional person like kim carrigan. This station needs some management changes.
I liked the chemistry of Kim and Gene. Sad that she left. They should have at least given her a chance to say good bye on the air like when Doug Meehan left instead of pretending she never existed

Sorry I misspelled Kim’s name. There definitely was something special that Kim brought to the table. I just don’t enjoy watching the morning news while I am having my coffee, as I did when Kim was there. Good luck Kim. Hope to see you soon on another network.
Shannon Mulaire said she will be anchoring on the morning show this week. She’ll only be filling in.
Another station running scared in the morning ratings battle. Kim was a class act and very good on TV. Just axing her like that will do little to improve their fortunes. It actually was a very good and competitive program at one point, until Fox corporate started mandating the draconian budget slashing.
Why is it that when you have what seems like a good team, you up and change it? We really enjoy Fox 25 news in the morning, but will miss Kim Carrigan. Thought she fit in quite nice with the rest of the newscasters, what’s up with you people, you’re going to end up ruining a good thing and losing the viewing audience.
You broke up a good team. Someone should break up the management team that is responsible for Kim’s firing. Not only did she deserve more respect from management, it speaks to a whole new era of hacks leading their “team.” You management people have a lot to pay for and it will come back to you ten fold. I’ve seen it and watched it. God help you all responsible. Gene and Kim were the best team in a very long time. Total idiotic and nonsensical strategy.
Kim Kerrigan was the glue on Fox25 Morning News I have been a dedicated viewer for years I watched V go 2 births with Cindy. Doug getting canned now Kim and AJ getting canned ” t’s all about the money” Does not matter what the people want.

Shannon Mulaire announced on her fb page that she is the new fox 25 morning news co-host with Gene!
I had a feeling when they brought in Shannon something was going to happen. There was one day they had a Let it Rip with Kim, Gene and Shannon sitting on stools and they had Kim part of the way cut off. Kim and Gene were great together and she will be greatly missed!
Kim, you will be sorely misses-I have watched you over a lot of the years even your start at Channel 7, I have seen you transform into the CLASS ACT you are-I hope to see you on the air real soon-GOD BLESS!!!

How insulting to have someone of Shannon Mulaire’s caliber replace Kim Carrigan. Shannon is horrible and could never hold a candle to Kim. At best, she is a news reader, at worst she is just “a blonde.” She adds nothing to the Fox Morning News. As a loyal viewer for years, I have now begun watching the Today Show on Channel 7. Fox was always my choice for news but this development has changed all that. And, I will encourage my friends to do the same.
I will miss Kim. I look for her and Gene every morning along with VB and Cindy. Together I thought they were a great team. I was shocked and offended to hear on Monday Shannon let slip out “for Christ’s sake”. My husband and I both looked at each other in disbelief and asked “did she just say that”? I hope Fox doesn’t let any more of the good ones go.
I am so sorry to hear how Fox 25 has discarded Kim Carrigan much like an “old Shoe”. She has always been a class act news correspondent and a great co-anchor to Gene. Unfortunately, I am not sure I can continue to support a Broadcast Station that has little respect for the people who have brought it to where it is today.

I enjoyed watchinng Kim and Gene so much, they really blended well together. I can’t stand Kim’s replacement and will no longer be watching Fox. Kim was the tops on that show with her easy smile and professionism. Management really messed up this time. I’ll be swapping off between 4 and 7 and erase Fox news from my veiwing as they erased Kim
I can’t believe Kim is gone, and no chance to say goodbye. I started watching Fox morning news about 6 years ago faithfully, and I credit more than half the reason for switching from channel 7 to fox on Kim. She is classy, well spoken woman, and just a total sweetheart. Kim and Gene together were the perfect combo! Shannon is okay, she is really coming into herself, and I really do like Elizabeth (lily) too. I just hate change. I still miss Doug a bunch and let’s not forget Anquanette Jamieson (who also left rather quickly). I just think letting a gem like Kim go was a huge mistake.
WOW I just heard Kim was gone,,, AJ now Kim the rock of the morning crew,, and put Shannon in replacing her, horrible,, and they keep the likes of VB, who is horrible at his job never lets anyone talks and thinks he has a sense of humor,, and Elizabeth who can’t read a sentence with out messing up ,,and looks like her arms and legs are waxed with a buffing machine,

I now have no reason to watch fox news it was the only news I ever watch because of the chemistry with Kim and Gene. When you also included Cindy and VB the team was complete. Once again management makes decision without being in the field. It’s like that in every business. Management hasn’t learned if something works don’t fix it work around it!!!

I turned into Fox News like I usually do. Much to my surprise I didnt see Kim, I figured she was taking time out because of the holidays. But time went on and still no Kim. What a lousy way to start the New Year. I cannot believe she is no longer a part of Fox News. Gene must be beside himself, they make such a good team. How do you just say that was your last broadcast, I dont get it. She never got a chance to say goodbye. I never got a chance to say goodbye. I am so upset.
I was not a big fan of Kims. She always interrupted others and she seemed really self centered. I like Gene VB and Cindy, they all seem down to earth. Shannon and Elizabeth should not let Kim be an example to follow. Be humble and grateful that you both have a job.

It;s a darn shame they let Kim go, and how insulting to just drop her without giving her a chance to say good bye to her audience. It appears that Fox is joining the rest of the stations in their image of women. Kim, with her short hair, neat business-like look simply doesn’t fit that new image. Too bad, as I, and a lot of other viewers prefer that look to the new ‘glamor’ girl one. With Kim on board I had thought Fox a bit above the other stations, now they’ve joined the crowd.

I had the pleasure of meeting Kim this past summer when Fox 25 zip tripped to Cape Cod (Yarmouth). She was such a delight. I’ll miss her but will still remain a viewer. Best of luck to you Kim.

Glad to see kim has many fans. I have been watching Fox news for 8 years now and I must say coming from Florida and watching the news anchors here Kim seems a bit snoty. She rolled her eyes alot when her co-workers spoke and I found that a bit odd. She also looked to her right alot as if she was acting rude to impress the person to her right…very strange not sure what that was about. I dont miss her almost felt like there was tension with her and her coworkers. Even when they spoke she always had a sarcastic response. I HATE SARCASIM. I do hope she finds a job. Sorry for being so critical….just want to see positve and happy people in the news especially in the AM. Life is stressful enough I dont want to watch it on TV also. Love the Happy new staff you have now!!!!!
