Orsillo Re-Ups, Watney Walks

Heidi Watney is out at the New England Sports Network.  The top-rated regional sports net has renewed the contract of Don Orsillo, who signed despite multiple job offers from both TBS and the MLB Network.

Heidi Watney has signed a contract with Time Warner Cable, who has lured the Los Angeles Dodgers away from FSN and WBZ-sister station KCAL.  The deal, worth approximately $2.5 billion, requires the creation of a new in-game team which Watney was glad to oblige.

Prior to coming to NESN, Watney was a sports reporter for a local station in California.  She is the latest among an exodus at the network.

NECN Brings in New Voiceover

NECN has debuted a new voiceover artist, and his voice may be familiar. Ted Williams, the homeless ex-radio DJ who made headlines in January, has been brought on to become the new voice of the regional cable network.

After being discovered on the side of the road, the Ohio-native was bombarded with interviews, appearances, and job offers, which became too much to handle. After being able to turn his life around, Williams has moved into a condominium with his longtime girlfriend and has been sober since May 4th. The Herald has more.

Since joining 7 News in 2008 from the now-defunct Fox 6 in San Diego, Grace has served as reporter, weekend morning anchor, weekend evening anchor, and most recently, third weekday morning anchor.
